Nepenthes veitchii ‘Candy’ x ‘Yamada’

Christian Klein’s horticultural forms of N. veitchii are famous in the CP community, and for good reason. This is one of his most exciting creations to date: his candy striped female crossed with a magnificent and huge squat male from Shinya Yamada. I expect the offspring will inherit squat pitchers, striped peristomes, and a variety of attractive colourations.

These are seed-grown individuals. Remember that N. veitchii tend not to show their adult traits until they’re quite large - in fact, some of my nicest plants only started exhibiting their best qualities once they were much bigger than these plants. As such, you can expect some exciting variation between these individuals as they grow up.

These are very young plants (5-7cm diameter), sent potted. Only a few available. Postage costs £6 via first class signed-for delivery in the UK, and is free for orders over £60. I grow N. veitchii successfully in my highland greenhouse, but the species generally prefers the warmer time of year here in the UK. For more cultivation advice, see my Nepenthes Growing Guide.
